“With encouragement from family and a number of friends, Rick started Heater Allen in April of 2007. The brewery started with a glorified home-brew system of 20 gallon batches. After the initial success of the brewery a 6 BBL system was purchased and installed in the spring of 2008. In late fall of 2013 a brand new 15 BBL system was installed to keep up with growing demand. Yearly barrel production as of end of 2015 was approximately 1100 barrels.
At Heater Allen Brewing we concentrate on producing German and Czech style lager beers. In a country where most craft beers are ales and most lagers are made by large corporations, we often end up explaining to people what exactly a lager beer is.
On tap – Pils Lager
This is our take of the renowned Bohemian-style pale lager that you might find in Bavaria or the Czech Republic. Ours is a little more golden, rounder, and a little more malt driven than many other versions. The beer possesses strong hop character that is balanced by its rich, round, malty palate. Refreshing and balanced, this beer is a favorite of our winery friends during harvest.
